Very recently, a new metaheuristic called Artificial Raindrop Algorithm (ARA) was proposed. This search algorithm inspired from the phenomenon of natural rainfall, including the generation of raindrop, the descent of raindrop, the collision of raindrops, the flowing of raindrop, and the updating of vapor. In this paper, at the first phase of the production of raindrops, a coefficient factor (w) is allocated to it and fuzzy logic is used to find the appropriate factor. This new algorithm is called Fuzzy Artificial Raindrop Algorithm (Fuzzy-ARA). In order to thoroughly evaluate the performance of the Fuzzy-ARA, a comprehensive comparative study has been carried on some benchmark functions (which are used on the CEC2005 contest). In this paper additionally, the convergence of Fuzzy-ARA is discussed and it is compared with ARA. The obtained numerical results indicate that Fuzzy-ARA has overally better performance than ARA.
