We use the Jaynes-Cummings model to generate entangled atom-photon state. Due to the importance of the Jaynes-Cummings model with large detuning between the radiation field and the atomic transition in fundamental tests of quantum mechanics, we assume that the detuning parameter is large enough. In order to investigate time evolution of entanglement, linear entropy will be used as a suitable measure. It shows the appearance of entanglement sudden death which depends on the atom-field coupling constant and detuning parameter. Moreover, the length of the time interval for the maximal entanglement depends on the amplitude of the initial coherent state.
