In this study by use of electrospinning device, zirconium silicate nanofibers were synthesized. For this purpose polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) was dissolved in water and ethanol at first, then zirconium silicate was added to the fabricated solution. The obtained solution electrospun under 30 kV potential. After that, the nanofibers were calcined in 550 oC of air atmosphere for 3 hours. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of samples confirmed the formation of tetragonal crystal structure of zirconium silicate. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of samples showed that the average diameters of nanofibers are about 80 nm. Comparing of fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra of samples before and after calcination process showed that all functional groups of C=O, O-H and C-H were removed after calcination process which indicated the omission of fabricated polymers sculpture after calcination process.
