One of the most important processes in many industrial and manufacturing operations is Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) considered as a nonlinear multivariable system mostly involved in high interactions, and the control of this system is the main research area of many studies. In this study, a H∞ controller was designed to control GMAW process and reduce effects of uncertainty and interactions on the system with selection of appropriate weights for a better tracking, less energy consumption and limited output. The appropriate controller ensures the robust and performance stability in the presence of parametric uncertainty and improves control signal.
