The nanoparticles of Ni-Al layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were prepared with Ni/Al molar ratio of 2:1 by a hydrothermal mathod at pH 10 and were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), elemental analysis, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The size and morphology of nanoparticles were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The calcination of samples was done at 450◦C. The removal of As (III) from aqueous solution using uncalcined and calcined LDHs was investigated. The adsorption was described by a Langmuir- type isotherm. The adsorption capacity of As (III) on modify-calcined LDH was higher than uncalcined LDH.
