Few companies are seeking for ways to apply information technology to provide new
services or improve their services. Number of these companies comparing to those that
investigate the new ways of improving their activity management using economic
resources is few. From among various modern technologies, the one that has obtained
attention in recent years is RFID technology. The technology allows sensitive information
for writing and reading labels and a few signs to be checked out simultaneously. RFID
technology has the capability of being portable and flexible. In addition, the information
that exists in identifiers develops the needs for security. Components of RFID systems
include tag, reader, antenna, station and a unique serial number which is allocated to each
object. The serial number can give any information to user about that object; each one has
a separate function.
Considering the increasing use of RFID system, it seems that in order for the system to
be accepted and used much better in a society factors that affect the technology should be
taken into account firstly so that by identifying these factors, a better context for the use of
the technology in different fields can be provided. The present study showed that factors of
result visibility, technological complexity, and benefits received from the technology
application, appropriate infrastructures for the use of technology, the use of RFID
technology by rivals, and familiarity of citizens with RFID technology affect the
application and acceptance of the technology by users. Results of this study will be applied
by active managers and researchers in the field of wireless network applications and as a
tool for the evaluation of RFID technology acceptance across the nation and the society.
