One of the most important factors affecting the precision of the performance of a GPS
receiver is the relative positioning of satellites to each other. The Geometric Dilution of
Precision (GDOP) is a measure of the overall uncertainty in a Global Position System
(GPS) position solution, the lower the values of the GDOP number, the better the
geometric strength, and vice versa. This study employs the hybrid technique of Mixture of
Experts (ME) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for the regression and classification
of GPS GDOP. The simulation results demonstrate that MEPSO algorithm has great
accuracy, so that it can improve classification accuracy of GPS satellites about 98.25%.
