Substitution of silicon in crystalline molecular sieve structures by various hetroatoms has been a topic of
interest for past few decades. The isomorphous substitution of Al and/or Si by other tri- and tetravalent metal
ions is generally considered as a tool for modifying the acidic and catalytic properties of zeolites. In this
work crystalline zeolite B-ZSM-5 has been synthesized via "Templating method" under static hydrothermal
synthesis using tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) as the silica
source and structure directing agent, respectively. Characterization of the product zeolite was carried out by
Fourier-transformed infrared (FTIR) and X-Ray diffraction methods.
