Sandwich structures perform an important role in structures because of the ratio of the bending stiffness to the weight. Magneto-Rheological Fluids are one kind of the smart materials which are suspensions of micrometric magnetic particles in a carrier fluid typically oil. When the magnetic field is applied to viscosity of the fluid increases and the fluid becomes like a viscoelastic material. Energy method is used to derive the equation of motion. In this paper, a single and multi-objective optimization of the panel for the first modal loss factor and the weight of the panel with isotropic and composite face sheets is conducted by using of Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization and the pareto optimal solutions.
