Carrier technology offers an intelligent approach for drug delivery by coupling the drug to a carrier particle such as microspheres, nanoparticles, liposomes, etc, which modulates the release and absorption characteristics of the drug. [2,3]Conventional drug administration does not usually provide rate- controlled release or target specificity. Drug Delivery Strategies for Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs provides a comprehensive overview of currently used formulation strategies for hydrophobic drugs, including liposome formulation, cyclodextrin drug carriers, solid lipid nanoparticles, polymeric drug encapsulation delivery systems, self-microemulsifying drug delivery systems, nanocrystals, microemulsions, solid dispersions, cosolvent use, polymer- drug conjugates, polymeric micelles, and mesoporous silica nanoparticles
