The Common Scrambling Algorithm (CSA) is used to encrypt video streams in digital video broadcasting systems. To achieve a great security margin, this algorithm combines stream cipher sequence and block cipher. This paper explored the implementation of an improved method of CSA in order to increase the security of data transition. With the integration of multiple upgrades in the source codes, the security factor is enhanced at the core of CSA, while adopting a method to protect data, if unwanted access like as an attack to this data was granted, the security intensified avoid attacking the video data. Finally, the proposed algorithm was further evaluated by applying the Time-Memory Trade-Off (TMTO) and Brute force attacks. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm using the encryption extension technique was highly resistant against those attacks.
