چكيده فارسي :
This study explored how symbolic capital affects home culture attachment. As such, taking access to the global Lingua Franca, English, as a one realization of cultural capital, the current research, informed by Bourdieu’s sociology of education theory, was designed to determine the extent to which female EFL learners’ Home Culture Attachment (HCA) is affected by their English language learning experiences. To this end, a questionnaires measuring HCA and English learning experiences, was administered to a sample of 225 Iranian high school female students from 5 high schools in Ahwaz. Covariance analysis of variance revealed that there exist complex interrelationships between cultural capital, and HCA, pointing to the critical role of access to English. Pedagogical implications are further discussed.
