Postmodernism Existential Plight and Drama trends’ Pioneers

Literature implicates the ideas of author in form of writing and the ideas convey pedantic message for readers. Alongside, in many ways, one of the main sources of studying about the characteristics of any epoch or specific condition of human being in any period has been the study of the literature of that time. This paper introduces major trends of drama from Thornley s view point and highlights identity and self as the existential plight of postmodern man in the view point of Samuel Beckett and Harold Pinter, the leading figures of theatre trends who have consummated the earlier intellectuals efforts in devising the appropriate theatre style.
