driven Internet of Things for an integration of smart objects. Enabling security services (e.g. confidentiality, authentication, authorization) for these applications is essential since they affect our personal daily life. However, established standard protocols and solutions cannot be directly used in CoAP networks, due to the resource-constrained nature of smart objects and new operation challenges in practical deployments like power-efficiency, Network Robustness, Application Deployment Scalability. This paper presents a review of CoAP protocol, details practical security issues that need to be solved based on (D)TLS; and discusses future work.
