In natural waters and/or aquaculture facilities, fish are often exposed to poisons and pollutions effects. To our knowledge, there are no studies concerning the effects of dursban on goldfish (Carassiusauratusgibeio) hematology. This study presents hematological and some biochemical parameters of gold fish (Carassiusauratusgibeio) affected by sublethal concentration of dursban. 120 goldfish (2 years and 50±5g) in 4 groups (0, 0.05, 1 and 5 percent of dursban lethal concentration) with 3 treatments locate at glass aquaria for 2 months and feed two times in days at 8 and 15 oclock. After a period of 60 days, parameters such as hematocrit (Hct), hemoglobin (Hb), lymphocytes (Lym), neutrophils (Neu), total protein (TP), albumin, immunoglobulin M (IgM), glucose, red and white blood cells (RBC and WBC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), glucose (Glu) and total protein (TP) were examined. HCT, MCV, MCH and MCHC significantly (P 0.05) reduced and RBC and WBC significantly (P 0.05) increased but Lym and Neu were not significantly different (P 0.05). Glu and TP significantly (P 0.05) increased. Hematological indices of fish, caused by dursban toxicity to goldfish, can be secondary responses to toxicants, including exposure to low concentrations of dursban, which reflect the launch of stress reaction in the affected fish.
