Despite significant progress in larval stage feeding, especially in marine fish farming, many questions still remain unanswered at this stage of feeding. Topics such as types of live feed sources, enrichment of their contents, their use phases continue to be investigated. In general, it is very important to understand the whole feed line in larval stage, to develop larval feed diets and to adjust culture conditions to meet larval requirements. The use of live food in larval feeding is still a priority. It is very important that these foods are remarkable for fish, easy to digest and economical. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of live feed used in marine fish farming. It is also about identifying the larval nutritional requirements, the nutritional value of live feeds, and the lack of information about the challenges and opportunities of developing formulated larval diets. In this study, information was given about live feeds (microalgae, rotifer, Artemia, copepods and other non-traditional live feeds) and their uses. The advantages and disadvantages of culture methods, production systems, storage and enrichment have been compared, especially for various live feed species.
