THE ISLAMIC REVOLUTION OF IRAN AND DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC AND CUTURAL CENTRES IN IRAN AND OTHER COUNTRIES

Revolution can be defined as the collapse of the previous order and its replacement by a new one. Revolutions are analyzed in terms not only of their causes and preconditions, but also of their consequences. In February 1979, world saw a remarkable event of a change which is known as The Islamic Revolution of Iran. Revolution is a socio-political process, which influence every aspect of life but due to ideological motives has significance effect on culture. Islamic revolution of Iran brought about a new outlook to not only Iranian society but gave identity definition to Muslims of various countries. As the revolution was based on Islamic teachings thus it was very important to align modern everyday life of a Muslim individual with Islamic ideology. It was imperative to provide cultural alternative due to competing identity options available in global arena. It also important to provide with scientific progress within the ethical framework of Islam. This paper will focus on understanding the cultural narratives and scientific progress in post revolution Iran and its impact on other Islamic countries. This paper will also explore the impacts of Islamic revolution on the progress of scientific and cultural centers in Iran and other Muslim countries using Pakistan as case study. Research methodology for the findings will be constructed upon the relevant literature in terms of books, articles, research papers, interviews, newspapers and documentaries. This paper will also draw upon primary data of Books and Video library membership, cultural events, linguistic skills training from Khana-e- Farhang situated in Pakistan. Key informant interviews will also be carried out with Individuals using above mentioned services to understand its utility and impact.
