امروزه شهر تهران به عنوان پايتخت بيشتر از قبل مورد توجه قرار گرفته وعدم امكانات و درآمد در روستاها و ديگر شهرها باعث ورود بسياري از مهاجران به تهران براي كار ، زندگي و تامين نيازهايشان شده است در پي آن مسائل و مشكلات بسيار زيادي از جمله مشكلات اقتصادي، اجتماعي،فرهنگي، زيست محيطي را شامل مي شود از مهمترين مشكلات و چالش هاي شهرتهران مي توان به افزايش روز افزون جمعيت و مهاجران، پراكنش افقي شهر ،عدم برنامه ريزي و ايجاد زيرساخت هاي مناسب و توزيع متعادل آن در سراسر نقاط شهر،آلودگي هوا،ترافيك ،آلودگي آب هاي زيرزميني ، آلودگي صوتي ،حجم زباله هاي توليدي ،معضل موش و حيوانات موذي و مگس هاي سفيد ،زلزله و گسل هاي تهران نام برد.با بيشتر توجه كردن به روستا ها و شهرها و فراهم آوردن شرايط كاري و امكانات رفاهي مي توان شرايط مهاجرت به مادر شهر را كنترل و بهبود ببخشيم .رشد هوشمند شهري از جديدترين و مهمترين انگاره هايي است كه مي توان با استفاده از آن كمك به پايداري شهر تهران در برابر مشكلات و چالش ها بخصوص اسپرال شهر كرد. كلمات كليدي :تهران ، مهاجران ، چالش ها و مشكلات ، رشد هوشمند شهري، پايداري

These days, Tehran has been considerably important as a capital and lots of immigrants from small towns and country sides have come to Tehran to work, live and provide bare necessities due to low facilities and income in their hometowns .Therefore, lots of financial, and cultural, social and environmental problems have been caused. The increase in population and immigrants, urban sprawl, not planning in proper infrastructure and balanced distribution all over the city, air pollution, ground water pollution, noise pollution, the volume of produced garbage, rat problem and vermin, earthquake and faults in Tehran are the most important problematic issues and challenges. If villages, small towns and their situation, working conditions and welfare facilities are considered, the immigration to this metropolis (the capital city) can be controlled and improved. Urban smart growth is one of the latest and most remarkable models which can help urban sustainability of Tehran regarding problems and challenges specially sprawl.
