Sustainable development of Munich: case study connection of the new quarter “Freiham” to city centre

Munich is more attractive for labour market due to growing job market and higher quality of life. In recent years, continuous growth of both population and economy and low rate of accommodation construction led to high price of accommodation. Development of new district of Freiham is one of the city authorisation to address this problem. In this article, firstly, the necessity of development of new district Freiham is assessed. Second, the principals and strategic guild lines and relations of them with Munich’s vision plan are evaluated. It is shown that the sustainability as key principal used in implementation of planning process which is accordance with Munich’s vision plan.
