Soybean (Glycine max) is one of the important crop plants for its seed protein and oil. The symbiosis relationship between soybean and some special soil-born microorganisms is known. Most important result of this relationship is atmospheric nitrogen fixation. Soybean is a good model system in molecular era. Breeding for different traits, e.g. disease has enhanced its tolerance to abiotic stresses. It has also widely boosted up the quality of soybean. To breed for particular trait, it is very essential to have access to basic genomic information like, genome sequence, gene structure and function, functional or biological pathways and all related omics data. In this regard, we can use online databases like Soybase and SoyKB. They provide worthwhile source of information on soybean, and they may facilitate accessibility of scientists to the bioinformatics for this valuable species.
