Introduction Nanotechnology is a newly-established science which has made remarkable progress in recent decades. After extensive developments, the new nanotechnology was able to improve the use of nanoceramics. Nanoceramic now are comprehensive materials in the pharmaceutical industry and drug delivery. Ceramic nanoparticles are so flexible due to the property of moving the granules boundary on each other, unlike the metal nanoparticles. They have extended biocompatibility and unique physicochemical properties. Nanoceramics are extraordinary drug-delivery carriers. These nanoparticles are capable to deliver the drug to the target cells purposively with the lowest risk and the least invasion. By controlling the drug release, nanoceramics increase the drug endocytosis and penetration into the capillary wall. Materials and methods The total investigation in this review article included 53 articles exhibited in databases including SID, Web of Science, Pubmed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Wiley, Civilica and IEEE. Results Based on the studies, the productivity of Calcium Phosphate nanoceramics as antineoplastic antimetabolite drug carriers like Fludarabine, have favorable results including reduction of side effects of Fludarabine containing hemorrhage, nephropathy, aplastic anemia, and neutropenia. Therewith, improvements of cancer symptoms, nearly complete response with a long half-life and low relapse rate were obtained, too. Conclusion and discussion Nanoceramics with active surfaces, high surface to volume ratio, appropriate particle size, and convenient pores, give Fludarabine the opportunity to accurately aim the target cells and preserve long-term medication in the blood and provide sustained release of the drug. By modified bioavailability, Fludarabine inhibits the growth and spread of cancerous cells.
