Phonological Processes of Ardalani Kurdish Consonants

The current study has an attempt to investigate the phonological processes of consonants in Ardalani Kurdish based on Generative phonology. So to do, upwards of twenty native speakers of local people in Sanandaj have been interviewed. Then the collected data, which are analogous with Persian, verified by the researcher, a native speaker of Ardalani Kurdish. The research method is descriptive-analytic and, therefore, the IPA system has been used. The present paper indicates that phonological processes including deletion, assimilation and weakening have been looked into the word-initial, word-internal and word-final positions of the words. As a result, it could be found out that deletion process has known as the most frequent process in Ardalani Kurdish.
