Nowadays surfactant flooding is considered as one of the successful methods of enhanced oil recovery. A surfactant can alter interfacial properties between oil and water. In this work, an amphoteric surfactant, which has two groups of opposite charge, is used. On the use of amphoteric surfactant for EOR less studies have bee carried out. One of the most important problem for high salinity reservoir is that usual surfactant doesn’t work properly. In this work, effect of salinity and concentration on surfactant flooding were investigated.The results show amphoteric surfactant with low concentration is efficient for high salinity system so that by increasing surfactant concentration the recovery increases at fixed salinity. At fixed surfactant concentration, by increasing salinity,oil recocvery enhances so that interfacial tension reduces properly at high salinity. Also the results present as salinity increases,less fingring is taking place due to increase in viscosity so that more hydrocarbon will be recovered. Finally, one can conclude the the amphoteric surfactant is suitable for enhanced oil recovery
