In the present work, polythiophene coated Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles as core–shell structure (Fe3O4@PTh NPs) have been successfully synthesized by two steps method and its properties were characterized. In the first step, the magnetite nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitating Fe2+ and Fe3+ in an ammonia solution as precipitant system. Next, polythiophene was coated on the Fe3O4 nanoparticles via oxidative polymerization of thiophene monomers in the presence of Fe3O4 nanoparticles and using FeCl3 as oxidant and H2O2 as Catalyst. morphology of polythiophene coated Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). spectroscopy were employed to characterize the composition and structure of the nanoparticles. The results showed that the polythiophene coated Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were successfully synthesized, good dispersion and stable core–shell structure were achieved. The SEM images of Fe3O4/polythiophene nanoparticles showed that polythiophene coated Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles exhibited near spherical and uniform morphology.
