PAN properties are key in establishing the high tensile strength and tensile modulus. This study presents the possibility of Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) synthesized by dispersion/emulsion polymerization of acrylonitrile in presence of Ammonium persulfate (APS) as an oxidant and Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as surfactant in continuos aqueos solution. Acrylonitrile could dissolve in most of the chemical solvent like Benzene, Acetone, Ethanol and Ether. Under appropriate conditions, these particles, formed either by dispersion or by emulsion polymerization.Products were investigated in terms of morphology and chemical structure by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), respectively. In classical emulsion polymerization, the monomer is insoluble, or scarcely soluble. For the especialqualification of PAN the solvent was incomparable. Results from scanning electron microscope (SEM) showed that the mophology of Polyacrylonitrile was globular. Investigated from transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed that there were various band between crosslinks. In this research Polyacrylonitrile nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by aqueous dispersion polymerization
