In recent years, transformerless photovoltaic systems have become popular because of their advantages such as smaller size, lower cost, and higher efficiency. However, the flow of the leakage current due to removing of the transformer is a disadvantage of these systems. In this paper, a modified Discontinues PWM (DPWM) method is proposed in order to reduce common-mode voltage and also switching losses of a Ttype inverter. These goals have been achieved by selecting the vectors corresponding to lower or zero common-mode voltage while the required number of switching in a period is decreased. The voltage variation of DC link midpoint and output current THD are also analyzed. Simulation results confirm that the proposed modulation method reduce the switching losses and RMS value of leakage current compare to conventional SVM for a 50 kW three phase transformerless T-type inverter.
