The purpose of this article is to improve and reduce the factors affecting fuel cells, that shorten their lifetime. Due to the fact that fuel cells are affected by current-ripple disturbances as well as trsient state phenomena, they lose their performance over time. Therefore, DC_DC converter suggested to increase the lifetime and dc link setting in fuel cell systems. The DC_DC converter proposed in this paper due to the interleaved structure, reduces the ripple current produced by the fuel cell. This converter has a uni-directional input for connecting the fuel cell and a bi-directional input for connecting the battery. Therefore, the charge of the battery will be provided through the main power source. The backup battery can be a good alternative source for a fuel cell in transient mode. Based on charging or discharging state of the battery, three operation modes are defined for this converter. The converter switching mode is selected in all three operating modes to minimize the voltage stress of the switches. In addition, the converter has several dc links with different gains in the output to feed electrical vehicles and also grid-connected applications at the same time. Theoretical analysis of the proposed converter with simulation results is verified for a 100 kW SOFC under various operating conditions.
