This paper proposes a ripple canceling branch (RCB) to overcome the destructive effect of input pulsating current of flyback converter and reduce voltage spikes on the switch. This circuit consists of a coupled inductor and capacitor and third winding that added to the core of flyback coupled inductor. The low number of elements, simple structure, small size, cost-effective, and independent of operating conditions such as duty ratio are features of the proposed circuit. However, excellent features of conventional flyback remained. The operation principle and conditions of input ripple cancellation are analyzed in detailed. A 100W sample porotype is simulated in MATLAB/Simulation software to validate the effectiveness of the proposed converter.
