The Vernier machine is one of the best electric machine structures that can be used for various applications such as wave energy due to generation of high thrust force at low speed. In this paper, a dual stator consequent-pole linear permanent magnet vernier machine (DSCLPMVM) with toroidal winding and Halbach array has been proposed in order to compare with conventional machine with concentrated winding. Both of the machines operate based on magnetic gear effect. The operation of the two machines has been compared using the finite element method (FEM) with ANSYS Maxwell software at the same condition, in terms of induced voltage, power factor, inductance, thrust force, detent force, PM flux and loss.
