This paper concentrates on cryogenic process cycles for producing nitrogen in south pars gas refineries. Nitrogen produced by cryogenic separation of air has been widely used in many industrial applications. The cryogenic process separates air by means of rectification, which utilizes the different evaporation temperatures of the components in the air. In this work, At first simulation of nitrogen generation unit was done and verified. Then important parameters including carbon dioxide content and reflux ratio of distillation column was investigated. By considering the influence of carbon dioxide, it is concluded that this contamination causes problems for cold box at content of higher than 1 ppm, therefore CO2 content at outlet of molecular sieve beds should be less than 1 ppm. By increasing the demand of gas nitrogen, it is observed that reflux ratio of distillation column will be decreased and therefore decreasing the purity of gas nitrogen product will be occured when the liquid nitrogen is not produced.
