Position and geometry of the initiator injection nozzles are among the most important factors in the tubular reactors of LDPE performance that affects the quantity and quality of the products. In this study, a two-dimensional model of a tubular polyethylene reactor was being performed and the effect of increasing the length of the injection tube on the mixing of monomer and initiator and also the quantity and quality of products has been investigated. The results indicate positive impact of increasing the length of the injection tube for better mixing of monomer and initiator that tends to improve the quantity and quality of products in the reactor. The proposed multi physics model may also provide useful information for prediction of the reactor behavior, control purposes, and even grade transition in production procedure. One important aspect of the model for ethylene polymerization reactor is capability of model extension to produce the copolymerization of ethylene with different comonomers.
