Solubility of Deferiprone in Mixtures of Ethanol-Ethyl acetate

The solubility of deferiprone was measured in mixtures of ethanol-ethyl acetate at different temperatures and atmospheric pressure. Ethanol is the solvent and ethyl acetate is the anti-solvent. For this purpose, a double jacket vessel with an oil batch was used. Saturated solutions of deferiprone were made in glass testing tubes and heated for 24 h. Thereafter, the solutions were filtered using membrane filters and the concentration of solutions were measured by double beam spectrophotometers (UV) and the solubility of the solute in the solvent mixtures can be calculated using experimental data. As can be seen, increasing the temperature of the solution result in increasing the solubility of the solute in the mixture of solvents and the maximum solubility of deferiprone was in a mixture of 0.74 mole fraction of ethanol.
