The chemical reduction procedure is used to synthesize catalysts of cobalt-ruthenium (Co-Ru) bimetallic supported on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and gamma-alumina (γ-Al2O3) for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) in a fixed-bed reactor. We well-synthesized the Co-Ru/CNTs and Co-Ru/γ-Al2O3 catalysts with weight ratios of Co/Ru (10 wt. %) with the fixed amount of cobalt (10 wt. %). The present catalysts were characterized using the various techniques such as XRD, BET and TPR. Among the prepared catalysts, the results indicate that the Co-Ru/CNTs catalyst demonstrate high catalytic activity with the highest long-chain hydrocarbons (C5+) selectivity up to 65.93%, which is higher than those using the Co-Ru/γ-Al2O3 (57.85%).
