Recently, it was shown that amino acid salts are suitable solvents for CO2 absorption. Amino acids have properties such as low volatility, high resistance to degradation, high surface tension and fast reaction rate with CO2. Potassium carbonate is an economic solvent but has slow reaction with CO2. In this paper, amino acid L- Proline promoted potassium carbonate was applied for CO2 absorption using hollow fiber membrane contactor (HFMC) experiment. Experimental results showed that recovery can rise up to 1.4 times by adding 0.05 M L-Proline. Finally, effects of parameters such as gas and liquid flow rate on CO2 recovery is investigated.
