The current work presnets the𝛾-alumina preparation as a catalyst and catalyst support based on the recent studies. The superiority of each one is discussed.Catalysis and catalytic processes are the keys for developing globally competitive and environmentally benign methods of converting natural resources into fine and specialty chemicals. New developed methods such as hydrothermal, precipitation, micro-emulsion, sol gel, solution combustion and oil drop are most applicable methods.The main parameters of critical importance on the properties of the synthesized γ-alumina such as pH, temperature, aging time, precursor, and impurities are discussed. All methods Also research challenges for future developments are discussed.
