Methane decomposition in plasma reactor is a green process and might become an economical route to produce COx free Hydrogen. In the present study, a novel plasma reactor with unique feature of stable operation to provide opportunity for direct decomposition of methane at almost ambient temperature was designed and constructed. The main product was hydrogen with small amount of C2 hydrocarbons. Performance of the reactor is evaluated in terms of energy efficiency and methane conversion under two state of rotating and stationary arc discharge. its expected that rotation of high voltage electrode causes better performance than fixed electrode in terms of methane conversion.
