Mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs), with large surface area and selective gas adsorption capability, containing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) nanoparticles are attractive for gas separations. In this work, ZIF-8 is synthesized and incorporated into highly permeable Matrimid membranes to enhance the performance of the membrane in the separation of H2/CO2. MMMs were prepared using solution casting method and the Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and single gas permeation analyses were used to characterize the resulted hybrid membranes. The permeability and selectivity of membranes were experimentally investigated and compared with the performances of other membranes that results were very close to the Robeson chart.
