In this paper, the method of f s spectral element to specify the natural frequencies and the e ddynamic response of circular cylindrical shellss with arbitrary boundary conditions under impact loads haass been developed. Displacement filed is exp prre essed in modal form in circumferential direction and eexact solution in longitudinal length is extracctte ed in frequency domain that leads to dynamic stiffness ma attrrix evaluation and dynamic solution in the timem e domain has been specified using IFFT. In the following, nna atural frequencies for cylindrical shell are calccuulated and compared with some other results reached in thhee past. Also, shell displacements under impacctt load are plotted. Making use of the smallest number of elleements in spectral element method, and a real llly y big saving of the volume and cost of the computations ffor reaching some results so close to the precissee results makes this method superior to other numerical met thhods.
