In this study, polymeric hydrogel beads with chitosan / sodium alginate / sodium dodecyl sulfate was synthesized using sol- gel method. CaCl2 was used as crosslinker. After drying the beads, batch adsorption of methylene blue day was carried out with this adsorbent. The kinetic study of methylene blue adsorption was done on the experimental data. Experiments were carried out at a concentration of 5 ppm with an adsorbent amount of 1.25 g at various times including 5, 20, 30, 40, 50,70,90,120 minutes. Concentration of Methylene blue was measured using spectrophotometer at 663nm wavelenght. The results showed that the kinetic model of quasi-second order has good agreement with the data with R2 coefficient of 0.9918.
