In this work, the kinetics inhibition and accelerating effect of L- arginine, L- proline, L- alanine, L- phenylalanine amino acids has been investigated on the growth of methane hydrate. The experiments have been performed in a batch stirred reactor under a constant condition. The results showed that L-arginine, L-proline, and L-alanine amino acids have acted as an inhibitor so that these increase induction time and decrease crystals growth. While wise 2 wt.% L- phenylalanine amino acid acts as promoter. According to the performance of amino acids inhibition and their structural properties, it seems that there is a direct relationship between the inhibition effect of inhibitor amino acids and structural parameters such as hydrophobicity.
