In this work, hydrothermal method was used to produce MIL-53(Al) as an Al-Based Metal-Organic Framework. The effect of synthesis time and molar ratio of ligand to metal salt on specific surface area, crystallinity and production yield of MIL-53(Al) were investigated. Properties of MIL-53(Al) were studied by XRD, FTIR and BET analyses. it was demonstrated that the sample with 48 hours synthesis time and 1.5 molar ratio of ligand to aluminum source had the maximum value of BET surface area of 1428 m2/gr. Also, the maximum production yield of 55.5% belonged to the sample which was prepared in 72 hours with 1 molar ratio of ligand to aluminum source. At the end the sample with 48 hours synthesis time and 1.5 molar ratio ligand to metal was recommendedbecause its appropriate synthesis time and the extent of ligand end to sufficient growth of crystals and concludedthe increase in BET surface area as well as yield.
