Lanthanum is considered as one of the pollutants in wastewater. Although there is still no strict regulation for lanthanum removal, it should be removed due to its detrimental effects on health. {[Ce(BTC)(H2O)]ꞏDMF}n MOF holds great potential for lanthanum adsorption in aqueous solution. The optimum synthsis temperature was determined and proved with XRD analysis. Additionally, TGA analysis was performed to clarify the suitable degas temperature. The highest surface area of 806 m2/g was achieved with optimum MOF synthesis condition. Subsequently, it was indicated that Langmuir isotherm, was the best fit for lanthanum adsorption via MOF. As a result, {[Ce(BTC)(H2O)]ꞏDMF}n MOF can be a possible alternative for lanthanum removal from wastewater.
