Environmental impacts of pollution from sulfur compounds in petroleum, its derivatives and the strict regulation of sulfur content in fossil fuels clearly highlights the importance of various deep chemical desulfurization approaches such as oxidative desulfurization (ODS) process. In this paper, the oxidative desulfurisation process using MoO3/g-C3N4 catalyst synthesized mechanically has been studied. Dibenzothiophene (DBT) was selected as the target compound for synthesis of the model oil. The compelete efficiency, ~100% S removal, was acheaved by 0.04 g catalyst at 60 ◦C within 60 min reaction time and H2O2/DBT=10. The MoO3/g-C3N4 catalyst was characterized by XRD, EDX, FE-SEM and BET analyses.
