In the present study, the enzymatic biodiesel production from low-cost, non-edible crude Eruca sativa oil was investigated in a two-phase enzymatic membrane bioreactor (TP-EMR) using free and immobilized Candida rugosa lipase (CRL). Effect of water content in the organic phase, and organic phase flow rate on the biodiesel production from Eruca sativa oil was evaluated. Although, glycerol was separated from the organic phase and dissolved in the water, which penetrated through the membrane to the aqueous phase. While the amount of immobilized lipase was lower than the free The yield of biodiesel from Eruca sativa oil and refined olive oil with organic flow rate of 40ml/min and water content of 20% in the organic phase were about 50% and 80%, respectively. With the use of TP-EMR system, the yield of biodiesel from non-edible Eruca sativa oil using CRL was almost complete.
