interaction between the data and models is very complicated in the water domain unfortunately in conventional modeling exercises this interaction is often overlooked in this situation a very common belief is the choosing a more sophisticated model leads to more accurate results although the fact is that application of a very simple conceptual model chosen according to available data structure will lead to a more realistic results in this paper a multi -tier good practice paradigm for modeling is proposed the approach involves identification of a watershed management issue/problem selection or development of a simple conceptual model appropriate to the database available and application of the model to address the identified problem .
