Bearing capacity is the ability of soil to carry the pressure placed on the soil from any engineered structure. This paper presents the results of a series of numerical analysis carried out on spread footings. In this study we use numerical approach to obtain bearing capacity of spread footings based on Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion. The objective of this study is to suggest bearing capacity factors to simplify the procedure of determining bearing capacity of spread footings. Numerical analyses carried out on different soils and a list of bearing capacity factors obtained. The results show that Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion could estimate soil behavior very well..
