The Impact of logotherapy on Recovery of Symptoms of Postpartum Depression

Introduction: Post-partum depression (PPD) has a significant effect on child development and behavior. This study was aimed to investigate the impact of logotherapy on recovery of symptoms of postpartum depression. Method: For this purpose 30 women with postpartum depression (15 in logotherapy, 15 in control group) were selected through available sampling and were randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. The intervention group received 7 sessions of logotherapy and control group did not receive any treatment. Data was collected by Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Pre-test and post- test were applied. To analyze the data, the analysis of covariance was applied.sig.0/000. Result: The analysis of covariance demonstrated there is a significant (p <0/005) support of the effectiveness of logotherapy on recovery of symptoms of postpartum depression. Conclusion: The findings showed that logotherapy has significant effect on recovery of symptoms of postpartum depression.
