In this article, the heat transfer phenomenon for gas–solid flow in the fluidized bed dryer was simulated using CFD
tools. Simulation has been carried out with grains of wheat at various velocities and temperatures of air. A mathematical
model for batch drying based on the Eulerian "two-fluid models" is used. The two-dimensional, axis-symmetrical
cylindrical equations for both phases are solved numerically. The governing equations are discretized using a finite
volume method. The effects of parameters such as inlet gas velocity and inlet gas temperature on temperature of solid in
the bed are shown. The modeling results was evaluated comprehensively by comparing its predictions with
experimental data for fluidized bed reported in literature and found to be in reasonably agreement.
