Nonelectrolyte NRTL-NRF (NNN) model is used for short range contribution of excess Gibbs free energy
of electrolyte solutions. Long range contribution is represented by Pitzer-Debye-Hückel model. In the first
step of this work, the present model is applied to correlation of mean activity coefficients of more than 20
strong aqueous electrolyte solutions which has two adjustable parameters per each electrolyte. The results
of this part are compared with the electrolyte-NRTL and electrolyte-NRTL-NRF models. In the second
step, the activity coefficient model is adopted to correlation solubility of acid gases in alkanolamines. . The
results for the MDEA-H2O-CO2 and MDEA-H2O-H2S systems demonstrate that the NRTL-NRF model can
correlate the data very well and also the model is successful to study thermodynamic properties of
electrolyte solutions.
