This work is devoted to the numerical modeling and experimental validation of ice melting processes. The energy
balance coupled by mass balance equations including isothermal phase-change phenomena are assumed as the
governing equations of the problem as a moving boundary problem. The numerical results calculated by mathematical
modeling have been compared with the experimental data. The numerical results satisfactorily approached to the
available experimental data for ice melting in air as an example for ice melting in south and north poles. This study is
mainly focused on the validation of the numerical predictions obtained using finite difference method with obtained
experimental data.
